    Halcyon Eclipse

Tried my new eclipse today for the first time.

2 dives and i'm hooked. Some minor fiddling with the webbing made it comfy, trim was way better than my normal BCD and bouyancy on surface was excellent.

took a bit of time to get used to the lack of shoulder dump and opposite side for the lower dump.

i am going to do the 6" loop and AP Valves QR clip mod as it was a bit of a pain to get on and off.

looking forward to more dives later in the year.

Same here I had one too works much better than my dive rite rec wing and my old bc.

I have a eclipse 30 now just wondering it would give me enough lift using a single 15 and 7 liter ali stage/ or a 3liter steel pony.

i think a single 15 and a pony would be no problem for lift

i'm 6'6" and 18 stone and had no problems with a 15l single, so if you are smaller it should be just fine.

another thing i will do is swap the wing nuts for thread lock nuts. on the first dive they both came loose and didnt inspire confidence. i dont need to take the STA off so i will just use the threadlocks and bonnets instead.

it was also the dual cam bands that i really liked, having always used a single.

i was in Dibba on the east coast of the UAE diving on Dibba Rock. it was only 5-15 meters but we saw 4 green turtles, 3 black tips and abundant fish and coral life. very impressed and will be going back to Freestyle divers.
