Life is like being immersed in water - it feels good, but the longer it lasts, the more wrinkled you get
Narked at 60 ss/backplate and harness. Zeagal wing at the mo, changing to the NAS wing in the new year. Use it to dive single, twins, twins + stages. Love it.
Started out with a Mares HUB. I really liked it at the time, but have to say it's not a patch on the wing.![]()

<font color='#810541'>that should be added to the 'top tips for new YD members':
1. Start a thread asking about pony cylinders. We've not had that conversation enough times and you will always remember that you've joined.
2. Post something denegrating DIR. Anything. You'll make sure you are standing on firm groundnext time you try THAT (and you WILL learn something from the responses)
3. Drop, casually, in conversation, that you think the HUB is a pretty good idea.
any more suggestions ........
The first rule of diving: Anyone can call the dive for any reason.
Pioneer 36 with steel or ali backplate - only dive singles at the moment but maybe in a few years I'll twin up and go 'sploring...

Yes, it was before I was qualified and I had about 10 dives. I listened to the dive shop sales guy and, as he did me a deal I got one. Luckily for my partner she got a Diva LX and decent Scubapro regs which she loves.
Actually to begin with it was fine, and is no different in the water to any other jacket. I did a week in the Red Sea, and a few UK dives, and then did a few days in Oban. When kitting up, turned the gas on and 'hhhiiiisssssss'. Didn't know what it was but I thought I'd take it to Puffin Divers to sort it. They said it was a HP hose, and as it was nonstandard would have to be sent back on warranty. I said no thanks. Anyway I lost a days diving and borrowed some gear to dive with for the remainder of the trip. When I finally got it back to the dive shop it was just the Oring behind the Aclamp fitting and was a 30 second fix.
It was around this time I was starting to look at what info the internet had on diving and henceforth started reading about DIR. I was pretty annoyed with myself and diving as a whole at the time and DIR to me is like sticking two big fingers up at the 'system' which appealed to me (and still does)
So, I have been misled and missold by the manufacturers and dive shops just the same as most other divers but I am lucky in that I make enough money to be able to change gear when I want. On reflection I am quite happy that I got it because if I hadn't then I wouldn't have been angry enough to look at the alternatives and I wouldn't be the diver I am now.
It was also one of the triggers that resulted in a number of things such as choosing DIR as a way to dive and joining YD.
Merry Christmas
Andy

Old divers never die - they just go down on old wrecks.
