Just working on the photos. They're a random selection because I don't seem to be able to get the pics to show up on my PC. The video is too dark to be of much use, might be able to adjust it but I doubt it. I'm a technophobe and I struggle enough with putting pretty pics on here!

Right, I've found a photo but can't get it to upload. What's the max size on the thing? Am I really so stupid I can't do this?

Digger use www.tinypic.com and paste the [IMG] bit (the bottom of the links it gives you once you have clicked "host".) into the thread.

Does this count as bollocks too?

Holme Bank

What's this mine like? Is it similar to the Silica Mine in Dinas (Neath, S.Wales)? Is it worth the drive for an evenings potter?

You silly boy.

Here's two pics. There not great, but it's something. I was still learning (& still am) how to use my camera in different conditions.

Er... no. It's a lovely place but about 1/4 of the size of the silica mines. I don't know that I'd drive all the way from Cardiff to do it. It's about 40min from my door if I don't stop at the sausage van at Monsal, I don't know that I'd drive much longer than that to dive there.

It's right in the middle of Bakewell. Not a road as such, there is a track behind some houses which is driveable. It is virtually on top of some back gardens and it is a track heavily used by walkers so it's a place to be sensible, not park a load of cars there and keep the locals happy. It's also used by the quarry who owns the mine so they need access too. It's about 5min walk to the water with a bit of stooping unless you are a short-arse.

This is truly a wonderfull place, the benifit of suiting up before you enter is that when you don't see the water and walk into it you will be in your drysuit.

N.B the first time i dived here i was in a wetsuit.

It's an easy training dive, similar to Dinas but it is only flooded on 1 level and the walk in is easy.

If you are in the area and want to get wet it is good , but half a day in there and you will know every rock by name.

The owners will only give CDG members permission to dive it. I did dive it before I joined CDG but was accompanied by 2 members, they were checking me out at the time.
