OK, It's called Doye Gabet, nr Morez in E France, known locally as Trou Bleu.

Here are some more pics of it showing the cave profile and the access!!

Je ne parlais la francais, but doesnt "Lac des Mortes" translate as "Lake of Deaths"?

I think that'd put me off a bit...

Bob,

What's the access arrangements - presume you dived it.

Is the survey on the sign anything like correct?

I always used to chuckle at the Doux de Coly which has a sign saying 'depth 12m'....

Cheers

Yes , we dived it, but couldn't really confirm whether the survey is accurate. We planned a dive to the top of the shaft, then a second dive to the boulder choke. When we got in there for our first dive we were surprised to find no line so we had to lay our own. We were also a bit shocked at the water temperature! Since access to the water is so difficult, we decided to call it a day after our first exploratory dive and go somewhere else.

Access to the cave is not restricted in any way, just difficult! Anybody can dive it.
