| Fi. The mist is your breath.... if you want to take a good pic.. get into a chamber, hold your breath.. walk forward and take the snap. The flash makes a difference too as you pointed out, but as Im sure you gathered, cave photography is an art!! Mark, if you want some idea..... and yes, I know my bum looks big in this!

| Whats it like in the sumps of Kingsdale Mastercave? Done the "dry" bits of it, and there were further avens simply marked as "aquamole aven" on the plans. Curiosity!

| Aquamole Aven... oh do I have happy memories of that... The entrance is up on the fell a good bit higher than KMC with a couple of nice pitches at the start. I picked the wrong lamp head up without noticing, main bulb blew after 10min, pilot blew 10min later, did the whole trip on a handheld. Great for SRT'ing There is a long crawl just before the final drop to the sump, a body sized twisty turny tube. I can't remember exactly how long but it felt like about 30min (probably much shorter) and was ****ing hard work (I was carrying kit for another diver who had sneaked a load of lead into the bag). While we were there a monster storm hit the valley so by the time we reached the sump it wasn't diveable. On the way back there was a small river coming down the tube, horrible, hard going, still with a handheld. Downstream from KMC is verrrrrry long, used to be one of the longest cave dives in the world, leading to Keld Head and other branches. Upstream there are some nice short sumps into Rowten etc. All very weather dependant. Haven't been there in a long time.
