Noxon park is the area within it are a number of mines (some that link). Some go to water others just end in collapsed areas. Other than Crater they need some underground travel to get to water. The mines have some instability and rock fall between trips is not uncommon. The mud is nice and red and will stain every thing. In the past we have always parked down bellow the garden centre (bellow the poly tunnels) after asking and buying a pot plant assuming it is still open as it is some years since I have been there. Do not park in the track by the barrier as this makes foot and horse access difficult. There is also another track (with barrier) but this is a further walk. This may have all changed by now ?

The most popular mine is Louise and is about 1.5Km walk through the woods then a scramble to and through the entrance (take a hand line) and about 200M of walking trough the mine to water. As with all cave and mine access do not make things to obvious and cause problems for the locals. As I have said before for a sketch map of the locations have a look at CDG Newsletter Issue 86 - January 1988
