| Just back from diving in Cozumel and Tulum, Mexico and the Blue Hole in Belieze. I was absolutely blown away by the Cenote (Cavern) diving in Tulum. Managed 10 dives there and each one was different. It was absolutely awesome. I almost did my Cavern course but didn't have the time. Met up with a few instructors from Sharm including Leigh Cunningham who were doing their full cave course. I've now decided that I'm going to do the full cave sometime next year if I can get out there again. Helen my wife (also a PADI AI) wasn't so keen but after some pursuasion she did them too and really enjoyed it. But she's not up for the cave course unfortunately. All I can say is, if you get the opportunity to go there, you have to try it! The Blue Hole was pretty dull in comparison to the Cenotes, although the reef dives around the Blue Hole were quite awesome, better than Egypt I'd say and almost on par with places like Wakatobi in Indonesia. Should have our pics ready soon! Gareth.

Don't disagree ... the team aspect is one of the reasons I love in dry caving ... Having an active gang of Red Rose sherpas I 100% agree with you re the teamwork. I suppose I was thinking of your comment above re posturing. Having had one genuinely scary dive my view is no amount of posturing counteracts the solitary experience of solo diving. Personally I enjoy hooking up with other cave divers and cavers, but I also really enjoy the experience of being alone in a dive. Mind how you go. Ciao, Peter
