Up to 50W I would go with a fami pocket 50, its smaller than the older power 50 etc and gives 5-6 hour burn at 50W. After that, I would look at an umbilical LED. HID /high power LED use a similar amount of power as i understand it, but you can bang nails in with an LED head whereas HIDs can blow from being turned off/on too quickly or a small knock.

Greenforce do quite a good range of batts/heads, most of which are interchangable. 30-250W heads, and batts from smallish stick to size of a 7l stage.

I've also heard that you can buy a dive-rite umbilical from the states and import it for cheaper than most umbilicals on sale here.
