Question CCR SCR mode with VR3

Hello,

If you are diving an Insp with air diluent with a Ppo2 of 1.3 and using VR3 as deco computer and have a problem with oxygen and have to switch to SCR, how would you calculate deco? Can you just switch your Vr3 to OC air?

It's as good a guess as any. You are actually running less oxygen than air so you need to pad the deeper stops and then switch to oxygen rebreather mode at 6m if possible (buddy's oxygen feed?).

This is probably the one time when that silly fourth cell would actually be useful but I'm still not tempted though...

Or Uri’s HUD with the VR3 connection would be an even better option, no fourth cell to mess with. Any progress with your HUD project Nigel?

Dave.

If you bail out to semi-closed mode you switch the VR3 to what ever gas your breathing on an OC setting and it recomputes the deco. Having made it to the 6m stop and 02 rebreather depth you can then switc back to CCR mode and it will recompute again.

Or if your like me and have Uri's HUD you dont bother as the VR3 linked to cell 1 will track the gas and keep on top of deco calks anyway.
