| Hi i know knothing about RB but i am starting to get a little fed up with lugging my big twins about. I see more and more of you guys seem to be diving using RB and making it back alive. My intrest is in deep diving usally on wrecks. I know that going down this path is going to be expencive but i cant help thinking about the gas i will save etc.. I know there are lots of RB out there but i dont know what i should be looking at. I want to use trimix and i usally dive depths of about 50 + m in cold norwegian waters. My aim is to start looking at some wrecks even deeper So here are the questions What RB should i be looking at What prices (roughly) should i be looking at Where can i get the best training for my enviroment (think going to clear warm waters might not be the best training) Any other advice etc. i would greatfully recieve i really dont have much idea about RB so figured i would post a question to the experts |

However you need a CCR (Closed Circuit rebreather) for these depth you mention. I have a Kiss, by far the most popular (common) CCR is the Inspiration. There were my shortlist. If you have a bit more dosh, consider the Orobourous or Megaladon. I don't know and awful lot about the Prism, but that would also meet your requirments as you've outlined so far.. Quote:

Be prepared to go back to square 1 and forget what you already know. Avoid the temptation on days 2 and 3 of your mod 1 course to sell it to the 1st person that you meet after getting out of the water hth Paul edit: most of the RB manufacturers have their units' manuals on their websites too.

| Have a skulk on Rebreather World for lots more RB specific stuff. Or nip down your local B&Q and make your own. All the bits are there.

Mind you Dyson tubes work great as hoses and you can sit your RB at the bottom of the stairs and breathe from it at the top.
