| Hows that work !! How does that work then, i now qualify to work hse 4 commercial diver and hse 3 later on and i spend up to 3 1/3 per dive in the water clocking up to Min's in a week and complete a maintainers course on the set and Ive got to go back to basic air course and then mix gas to dive what i dive already, you sure??

I'm not too familiar with what CD's are doing in the RN these days but I do know from my ex FGN Trimix Instructor that military diving differs greatly from recreational diving, buoyancy skills not always being so important I believe. If you need a "civvy" cert then why not get one. Ian

| Hi Ian you say that quote: I'm not too familiar with what CD's are doing in the RN these days but I do know from my ex FGN Trimix Instructor that military diving differs greatly from recreational diving, buoyancy skills not always being so important I believe. If you need a "civvy" cert then why not get one. Well you need to have dam good buoyancy when you dispose of a floating mine because its not on the sea bed and modern mines go bang when you fart in their local area. My buoyancy is just fine ta, been diving for 18 odd year and teach to trimix thanks to Phill Short. your a Ouroboros diver and your set is very similar to mine. Cross over happen all the time and as the Hse will allow me to work the commercial field with my quals which i recieved from a non commercial company then why should i have to resit a civi course when the one i have just done is good for heliox to 80 mts. Think I'll ask a certain inst trainer and see what they say. wolf.

| Sea pee The civi dives you do can be entered into your log book but dont go towards your 180 mins for your dive pay, when coming onto course your all treated the same and start from scratch with dive mins and experiance. wolf

I agree that cross overs happen but they aren't automatic, you will normally get some reduction in the in water time element but not a total bypass of the course. Ian

| I think your right, a basic skills dive with trouble, companion and emergency drills plus a final completion dive would sound the way head, Hope phill in the country and teaches Mk 15,5 or 16 then. thanks for your input surface safely wolf.
