No O2 cells, uses gas spectometry (sp?) and monitors CO2 as well as O2, 8 Hr scrubber. Turns itself on when it hits the water (as a backup). Going to retail for about £3500

Anyone else know anything more

Matt

It will also probably lose them money if it has all the features stated for £3500. Just think about Oceanic importing them to the UK etc and the costs involved in that, as well as the components, R&D, litigation when someone dies, and so on and so forth.

Ian's right (for once!) - right after they find the Holy Grail and I bounce dive the Titanic on air.

Dive Industry talk is easy to create - just look at some of the dive "celebrities" we've got at the moment, where hot air happily keeps them where they are. In the same way companies can talk for years about products they'd like to have and prices they'd like to get sold at and the LDS monkeys will gossip about it.

If it was going to happen in 2007 then there would be some information in the public domain and someone would have seen one somewhere. They're not building the next space station or nuclear missile, it's a small scale manufaturing project with lots of people who talk a lot very interested in breaking the story. So personally I'd have expected something to have been said - if nothing else for marketing purposes - which has some definites on it.

If they bring out anything less than the gossip talks about then it will just be another rebreather. Probably with most of the faults of all the others out there. The main one being the egit in the middle of the thing.

Digs.
