SCR* an easy unit to use for up to 40m look at the Dräger just nitrox fills {easy to get } lime {co2 scrubber} easy to get {can use same as most other units} and has a 1/2 fill sorb adapter can use most cylinders up to around 10ltrs with an adapter in the din so easy to travel with no electronics or monitoring needed at all but you can add if wanted also you could use a few others like azimuth {when traveling its a pain as you need cylinders that fit inside the shell} but everything else is ok or the submatrix is ok i just dont like the look of them tho {just my opinion} trimix on scr can be more complicated and you would need to add electronic monitoring SCR cost isn't bad compared to OC nitrox as you use the same nitrox but with less waste than using OC nitrox it will last around 4 times as long depending on mix and depth maintenance is fairly easy from week to week with all the scr units maintenance can be a pain if the units need to go back with shipping costs CCR looking at everything on the market it would be something from AP or the new sentinel both have good customer service in general and are both in this country if you need it fixed or have problems you can go to the factory in person and get things sorted!!! i have never had any real problems on my 2 AP units {classic/vision} only doing dives to a max of 40m will cost more using CCR than diving OC but you will be on a better nitrox mix throughout the dive so prolonging bottom times and less deco costs of units not bad 2nd hand hope this helps or you can PM,em@il or ring me ada

However, "which rebreather" threads aren't going to get anyone anywhere as everyone with a unit has an axe to grind - which is why I would recommend that the OP asks someone with no particular favourites - so I'd recommend picking up the phone and actually having a conversation with Dave Cooper. In my opinion (and that's all it is), I want a decent ADV and HUDS in the same way I want a car to have setbelts and airbags. I want a BOV in the same way I want a car to have a nice stereo.
