Commercial/Pro diver bail-out DIN/A-Clamp?

Maybe it has been mentioned before but have you guys noticed that in almost all the TV clips showing commercial deep sea divers ("Sea Hunters" etc.) the bail-out cylinder still use the A-Clamp method of attaching a first stage. One would think that when crawling around inside wrecks and with the cylinder being the last resort a DIN would be more fitting. Any specific reason or is it just USA logic?

Sounds like good USA logic, but from someone living in Canada?

But a good point non the less and maybe some Commie diver will have a good answer.

Hey you live even further from the sea than our Brummie divers, how long to a good sea dive for you 3 hour flight?

Dive Safe

Paul

Wink Inverts you know it makes sense

Hi NT,
most of the bail outs I have seen on dive show's are inverted so I guess the logic is that they would be unlucky to damage the 1st stage but I agree DIN IMO is a much better option.

Safe diving,
Steve.

I'm a new resident over here. I should not yet be considered a "local". :-) Sea dive: 12h vehicle drive or under 2h flight. But there are some lake dives closer.

Steve
All the divers I saw wore the kit in "standard" config - valve up. They were diving at around 110-130m if I remember. But then over here 200 bar cylinders are considered "high pressure"...

Could just be so that it becomes impossible to attach your main reg to your bailout gas?
