Commercial Diving Nitrox

Just a quick question to all the commies. Previously I have seen commercial divers on TV programmes using Nitrox when diving archaelogical sites etc but as far as i am aware there are no Commercial Nitrox courses taught by the HSE. So i was just wondering what training dictates whether Commercial Scuba Divers can use Nitrox or not?

I think the following statement answers ya question.

" Quailified to dive to 50 mts on AIR on scuba or SDDE "

http://www.hse.gov.uk/diving/qualifications/inl.htm you will find out more from here.

I dont mean surface supply. I mean SCUBA when you see commercial divers with Nitrox cylinders. I can't find any information on the Fort William Site for this.

VERY,VERY simple, a commercial diver cannot dive on nitrox on a scuba on a working job.

A SAT diver will use one form of mixed gas, but will be on a 'billie' fed from a bell.

Yeah I understand this but watching documentarys on the Discovery channel for example have shown Commercial Divers who are being paid using Nitrox Cylinders for archaelogical surveys.

How do you know they are getting paid and are commercial divers ?

I've been on jobs where recreational divers have dived with comies , both been on SCUBA . How can you tell which is which ?

some of the cylinders ive used in the past have a Nitrox sticker on them
doesnt mean its got Enriched Air in it. And all commie scuba divers breathe nitrox, hell i'm even breathing it now as is my 3 year old.
