hi all i no of 4 girls in the trade 1 i did my course with 9 years ago and never seen again, 3 i worked in dublin with and they were all really good at there job but the girl on my team penny had no work for about 12months prior to dublin, also if you love diving for fun dont do it as it will kill it for you, as for the money construction diving is financial suicide keep the job you have.

Diving for pleasure goes out the window once you become a commie can some times kill the enthusiasm for diving that can be a bad thing.

being a commercial diver is great if you like being in crapy water where you cant see a thing cold for three hours then you have to go topside to tender for further three hours the pay aint great and contracts are hard people to work for but if its something you dont think but you knowyou can survive in then go for it
