Kate,

Get Fort William to send you a info joining pack, will have the current prices and courses in there.

The prime question is :-

1). Why do i want to be a commerical diver & what you have in a background trade/skills/quail's to offer an employer?

If good wages come into it, then think again - the money is not in the trade now, and to get top dollar your name has gotta be known.

Andy.

You don’t need to be good at swimming to save lives.

Andy.
I’m just wanting to look into it at the moment, mainly because I hate being where I am at the moment!!!

Money isn’t why I want to look in to it, although I would need to bring home more than what I’m bringing in at the moment!

How would you get your name known? What kind of skills do you need?

I was at Wraysbury last week (not diving) and had an interesting chat with one of the guys I provided surface support for. He has very recently finished a course (can't remember the title of it) but it lasted 3 weeks and cost in the region on 3K. I think it was at Fort William.

The most common answer, where 9/10 times the person doesn't survive more than a year, as it's not all cracked up to be what they thought.

what does stand good for you, And i'm not being nasty or offencesive . You single and childless , which means that you can drop ya hat and travel either to find work or go where the work is at a moments notice.

I don't know what your earning or what you need to bring home.

BUT, you can be looking at only clearing £ 80 a day for the first couple of years, Your be VERY lucky if you got a 5 day week every week of the year.

Yep, one is always working here at Dover, when she is in the UK.

Think she was the 3rd ever to quailify. and defo the girl to have beside you when stuck in a net

And i can recall watching her on a jack hammer for 2 hours solid, when the blokes were giving up after 20 minutes.... weather it was the bubbles and punch or just the long term tingling and vibes she loved , i don't know.
