You need a surface supply qualification as a minimum.

You need to follow up CVs with a phone call or visit.

Concentrate on local contractors - your first break is likely to be because you're handy/can get there at short notice

Be persistent

Even though employers must provide PPE, make sure you've got your own hard hat, boots, high vis etc.

Your spelling doesn't matter, your attitude does.
