| PDA Dunoon Hi, Yep attended dunoon in january this year, Andy tucks, and Paddy are a great couple of blokes, and the little fat blond scotish twat 'Johny fat pants'!!!!! Dunoon in the winter is a bit of a depressing place, however the course gives you a good foundation for becoming a commie. If you can mate chip in with a few of the lads and get yourself a cabin on the caravan park - 'Hunters Quay' its much better than a b&B, cheaper, and you can have some wild parties!!!! ( only on a weekend though ) Well offshore at the moment on my first job!!!! ( Thanks to an uncle of mine! ( nudge nudge , wink , wink!!!!) ; BERKO what a star!!!! working with him and the guys at the moment out in Vietnam on the mermaid commander, installing riser clamps, and very shortly some rather large big fuck off fender guards & clamps! Who said it could'nt be done???? First job working offshore! & I'm loving it! Beats doing 2 years plus of shitty civil's work I reckon, however it depends what floats your boat Eh? I suggest if you want to get offshore go for it, and with a little help, and some ball's you will eventually make it! Right im off now , on shift at the moment with the BERKO, so see you later. Safe diving and enjoy the course..... Bruno |

| i totaly agree with the statement about the women! and also that paddy and andy are brilliant instructors - we have been with them today to lock eche. its a marvelous place to practice our lifeline signals seeing as tho the vis is terrible after the first wave of divers have been in the water. the weather so far is unbelievable - no clouds in the sky. congrats on the offshore work. that is my initial goal to do offshore work - whereever that may be in the world. the PDA have told us about many many jobs in the far east. im still looking to obtain as much info as possible about where and when the best places to apply for work are after completeting the PDA. Thankyou in advance to any replies. Dan |

i wonder why that was??? plenty of guys work off shore and civils when they are back home. to suggest its 'shitty work' without doing any is presumptuous IMHO. some civil work is great, rewarding and has job satisfaction. djkay, good luck with your course.

| Calm down, calm down, I reckon Bruno's comment was driven more by the euphoria of getting offshore than having a dig at civils or civils divers... he'll get a taste of feckin freezing February frost on his suit at some stage - just like everyone else - including me Breko

| Civils! Guy's, - Calm down your getting far to exited!!!! With all due respect, there is no need to take things so literal, I have a lot of respect for guys that do civils work, as does some of my mates, and also as mentioned I will probably civils diving on my leave time. At the end of the day there are plenty of posts and divers who share there info with the likes the rest of us , dark, zero vis , cold, experiences, etc.. etc.....and the list goes on but we take it with a pinch of salt and carry on and get on............. I just got a lucky break thats all, and if I did'nt I would gladly take up any civils work offered to me without hesitation. Sorry to all I word things a little better next time, as not to upset anyone ............. Bruno007 |

| My Soup!!!! Quote:
Oh yes I forgot to mention, my soup is fucking freezing, and watery as hell, how could I ever forget! Just the same as everyone else when they first started!!!! ( See what I mean!, we can all take things to personally!!!! ) At the end of the day I hope we are all grown men...... ( I hope ) Kind regards - Bruno007 |

True but as you and everyone knows its the offshore that pays and thats what its about i too did a bit of civils in the late 80's but compared to the following 13 years offshore the civils were shit eg 1997 Brittannia bundles job we were in sat on the pelican in 30 meters about 500 yards from the beach earning £600 a day some civils lads were about 50 meters away on £75 a day not that they were anyless divers it illustrates that offshore is the daddy. That i think is what Bruno was meaning Regards ja Last edited by Jon Adams : 01-06-08 at 12:42 AM. |
