The BFT is as gwilson states, though done on a treadmill you need to add 2 degrees of incline as a treadmill is less effort than road running. Don't know if they still do it but the territorial SAS at Chelsea Barracks used to run 'tests' on the 1st Saturday of each month. Be at the Kings Road for 08:00 and get a briefing and a run on their athletic track. Its a short track so 1.5 miles is 11 laps. The 1st 1.5 is run with pacers (of the sand beret variety

) and ran in the two outside lanes - so more than 1.5

. If you aint with 'em at the finish you're out - bye. If you are you can cut to the inside lane (no rest) and run the 2nd 1.5 in less than... er, 11:00 I think. To be honest, the first time I tried it I was only 4 days out of saturation and my legs crapped-out after 9 laps! The following month it was a piece of p!ss.

Sounds like fun!
The army BFT used to be a mile and half in ten and a half minutes, which was rather easy.
