| I’m not a Commercial Diver but would imagine it is as with most occupations that require a medical. As long as you can pass the medical you’re OK for another year. Bob

| There is no age limit as such - it's down to your ability to pass the annual medical and find work. |

| For part 3 & part 1 (surface supplied) there's only 1 - Fort William Underwater Centre, which has just reopened. If you only want part 4 (SCUBA) there's several places around, best to 'phone HSE and get a list. |

| There isn't a BEST school in the UK , IMM Fort Willy, used to be the best, and divers trained there seemed to get work fast and plenty of it. Work is draining away fast, why do you think i gave up doing it for a living ? if you have the funds and can get the work.......... GO straight for the OFFSHORE diver which is the OLD Pt 1

| Not sure that I agree with Fort Bill being any better than Bovi - all divers used to get work quickly - times change, as for the 'best' school, everyone I know who trained a few years ago thought their school was better - most people who have trained in the last few years don't seem to speak so highly of either school. (Bovisand closed down over 18 months ago). Part 1 is only any good if you're going straight offshore, which you would only be doing if you have some pretty decent contacts, that said, if you have the money there's no downside to getting the ticket. If you're on a budget consider sticking to part 3 and doing a wet welding course, that's more likely to help you get UK civils work, which is probably where you'd need to start. |
