Yes.

Other info embargoed by Suunto but it is on the Suunto web-site. Nice bit of kit though!

M J S saw the sea in a book once
Had a good fondle of the prototype on monday.

Tis very shiny and lightweight compared to the stinger, being only made in titanium. Thankfully they've ditched the metal strap idea and will only sell the D9 with the rubber strap.

Also the unit has the vyper battery which should give better duration than the spyder & stinger. Incidentally the battery goes in the back, rather than taking the front off and virtually dismantling the thing.

Lovely bit of kit, expect a retail price of £750.

Regards
MJS

I remain unconvinced, I'm still in the market for a VR3 at some point I think

Must admit it does look sweet.

I believe that Suunto are missing out on a huge part of the diving market by not having a trimix compatible computer, just like if Apeks produced a great side exhaust reg they would rule the reg market.

Cool website too. Must suck if you have a modem though. Not sure how high to put this one on the wish list, probably under never happen!

Suunto is the market-leader world-wide in diving computers. Some of its top staff in Finland dive tri-mix. However, in terms of numbers of divers world-wide the company obviously does not think it viable to produce a trimix computer at this time. Whether you like it or not tri-mix diving is still for a tiny minority.
On a similar subject, Louise tells me she never sees any divers with gas-integrated computers. That's because of the habits of the small group of divers she spends her time with. World-wide gas integrated computers are very popular which is why the three major manufacturers make them.
We sometimes get a distorted view of things if we keep close company in an exclusive group.
Can't answer for Apeks!
