Unhappy Mares Surveyor - flashing E prob - help!

Hi, Does anyone know how to reset a Mares Surveyor dive computer? I had unpacked mine after storing it for a while (without battery) and it now has a flashing E and won't work in dive mode. I've checked the manual, tried a new battery, tried resetting date and time to current settings but can't seem to find a way to make it work. I have gathered from another forum that this is not a unique problem, but does anyone here know how to fix it or indeed where I can send it to be fixed??? According to mares website nearest technical service centre is bloomin France!
Thanx
sss

Yeah,

Send it back to Blandford (UK Mares importer) and ask for a new one!

Blandford House, Holly Industrial Park,
Imperial Way, Watford, Herts, WD2 4YP, England.
Tel: 01923 801572 Fax: 01923 801573
E-mail : mj@blandfords.co.uk

Mine got stuck into dive mode and they sent me a new one for postage!

Top service.

Cool - thanx. How old was yours when you sent it back? Mine was new last diving holiday but sadly i've had a bit of a gap until last week (when I very annoyingly discovered this problem )

Mine was I think about 18 months and out of warranty but they still did it. Mind you I did send it back via a friendly LDS.

See contact details above. Best best is to contact direct

Mares Flashing "E" Blanfords unable to help

I too have a Mares surveyor flashing "E" after storage, i sent it to Blanfords who said it was beyond repair!!! only logged 4 yes 4 dives, about 20 months out of warranty as i use it solely for diving abroad.
Anyone got any ideas???
I was told it needs re programming, a fairly simple job (via infra red or something) however it is impossible to find a place to repair.
Please if there is anyone out there i could do with a little help on this one i cant afford a new one.
