Sorry, Hijack thread moment

OK. Is this backed up with real solid evidence or is it just anecdotal. You may feel better but is that just the placebo effect.

I'd love to see a switchable algorithm in the VR3 but do I Really need it?

Personally, after anything 60+ I feel noticeably better with VPM-B than with my fudged GF tables, and I still keep the in-water times about the same by selecting appropriate conservatism on VPM. I could probably start cutting the times back, but with an RB on your back and an adequate bailout strategy there's no need to be a deco hero. VPM-B and RGBM give pretty similar results in the usual recreational mix range but diverge for more extreme profiles.

If you mean 'scientific studies' then GIYF - one summary I found was at:

http://technicaldivingops.com/pages/updates.html

but turn your volume down first!

So in summary, (and neatly back to the thread if I do say so myself) sticking VPM onto the VR3 would be a 'good thing' IMHO - I never liked the PP algorithm and so wouldn't touch one at the mo.

Fuller details of the software upgrades and colour screens here.
The colour screen looks rather naff to be honest, perhaps it'll look better at the dive show.

Robert

P.S. Seems to be new manual available too - version 3 (2.2 mb pdf file)

I see see it now in Viz's top tips.
Save £200, get a bit coloured tacky-back and stick it over one side of your VR3 screen
