| There's been a lot of criticism of the most recent version, lots of bugs that the authors aren't particularly interested in fixing. I've always found Abyss expensive, complicated and not too user friendly. For nitrox diving I don't see the point of using it. Better off getting something simple. If you want the RGBM algorithm that Abyss uses then buy a copy of GAP, it is cheap, reliable and Kees (the author) is a very helpful guy. A lot of people use VPM, I'm not a fan of it having been bent twice using it but I am told the new version of the model is better. There are plenty of freeware deco programs out there too. Don't think because it is free it is not good. DD-Plan by Gordon Henderson www.drogon.net is about as simple as it gets and very good. There is also a free version of GAP too. I use my own deco software called XS, both on the Palm and PC. www.lizardland.co.uk because none of the others could handle the profiles I wanted easily. Cheers, Stuart
