Question Suunto Stinger Battery Life?

Off to Dahab next week and my stinger battery is onlo on 3 of the 4 bars battery power. It has been like this for the last three weeks. The instructions reccomend changing battery now. It will take three weeks as my LDS will have to send the computer off. Will be diving 10 times to max depth of 60m for about 1 hr 30 minutes. So my question is will the computer last a week of deco diving? If not looks like I'll have to shell out for another Uwatec depth/Time guage.

Thanks for any help.

Alun,

You say deco diving, using a Stinger I assume you will be using it in Guage mode? if so the sampling rate is very high and will consume a lot of power. For deco I turn off guage and EAN and just use it as a watch, if you do this I would expect it to last.

You could also try another dealer, it took me about 30 mins to get mine changed and most of that time was the pressure test.

IIRC you can change the sampling rate - if you turn this all the way down it might help, but mine was quite sensitive when the battery was low (before some b*stard stole it). I wouldn't risk it

Unhappy Thanks

Yes will be using in guage mode. Will try to get to another LDS but time at work is manic so struggling. I probably think a backup timer/depth guage will be needed if I can't get the battery changed in time.
