who cares about the surrounding glass? The colour screen is ace, clear and bright, using lithiums and the unit on full time u/w no real battery drain yet.

Huh? Mine went back for the current upgrades a week ago so I'll tell you what I think when it comes back. I really don't like logos and graphics on anything much. My only diving comitments for a few weeks are a Wraysbury trip to help a friend keep his hand in before going to Bikini (I might just turn his gas off and stuff him in the container) and Horsea with club newbies. Neither call for a Trimix CCR deco computer.

colour screen keep the original one. IMHO the colour screen looks a tad cheap and the coloured bits do nothing anyway !!

| Colour strip I have recently recieved my unit back from delta p with the colour screen upgrade and the latest version 3.03 software added and i have to say i am very impressed with it. The colour screen has five area's defined and in each area the colour can be self selected from a choice of 10 colours. Along with the new font with version 3.03 that supports the colour screen it does make a diference and i would give it a big thumbs up as for the colour strip down the side of the vr3 it's not something i would be that bothered about either way it's more the dive screen i'm interested in. At 190 stg the colour screen will appeal to some and not to others, I am well happy with it but as you probably know i am a vr3 fan anyway. cheers Barrie

Colour screen I've found it much easier to read on dark, low viz dives in UK. Just used it for a week in Egypt, not so easy to read in bright conditions with back light off. Think monochrome screen easier in these conditions. Ran it with back light on & was clear/easy to read. Using an Energizer 1.5V Lithium & it's holding up well. Binned to cheapo Lithium battery that DeltaP supplied. Think best solution is to have two, colour & monochrome as backup
