Unhappy Clearing the history on a Vytec

Does anyone know how to clear the logbook and history on a Suunto Vytec?

Why? Embarassed about that deep air dive you did and want to remove the evidence from the max depth? [1]

You could try removing the battery, leaving it out for a few hours and putting it back in again.

[1] yes, done that one before...

Bought it second hand and want to know where my divers start and where the previous owner ends. Also I'm embarresed about all my 6 meter divers and the previous owner's deep, long deco dives

Will give the battery trick a go after I work out how to get the scratch guard off !!!!

You dont need to take the scratch guard off to get at the battery. just remove the strap then you'll see it all in front of you.

erm... if it's the same as a Vyper, which it might well be, you can't clear the logbook. You can reset the deepest dive history though (instructions in the manual).

Just be sure to seal the cover properly again once you've opened it up....

One other thing to consider. I know that for the Suunto Gekko, there is special software that dive shops can acquire to reset computers as the Gekko is a popular rental unit. This enables the shop to reset a computer and rent it out again right away without having the computer penalizing anyone who rents the computer when it hasn't had enough time to clear. I don't know about the vytec, but if you check with a local dealer, they may be able to do it for you.
