| Cells for Mr. NotDeadYet's Analysers Well I was one of the lucky receipient of Mr. NotDeadYetAndAVeryNiceBloke's analysers Looking though NDY's posts, I'm planning on contacting these chaps - Omni Products in Coventry and buying a D-01 cell through them. I think they're around £20 + VAT but will give them a ring early next week to establish exactly how much they are. If anyone else wants one, then I'm happy to order a cell for you. I live and work in London but it maybe possible to use the marvel that is the "YD postal system" to deliver it. I will be at various South Coast dive sites (and probably stoney at least once more) this year. EDIT: Forgot the link - if you're at the other end of the country from me you may want to order them yourselves from here Janos

| Janos, Stuart's quote ref which cell we require is:- The analysers were designed for R17Ds, exactly the same but with a jack socket (hence the cable) same as the Vandagraph. Rgds Bryan

Have a look at the accessories page at www.oxycheq.com, $7 for a cheap t-piece. All you need is some plastic pipe, just get a suitably sized t-piece for a couple of quid at most. If you want fancy then you can glue a 5/8" BSP male nipple on the end to screw into a DIN valve. I've never used one, I just stick the cell in the flow of gas from the valve. Not very scientific but it works.

Then again when I use my OxyGuess home made analysor it gets within 1% of the reading from a real proper one but I have modified the cell by fitting a cap to it with 2 small holes drilled in it so the pressure created by the gas flow does not affect the reading. And I have lots of welding O2 at work so can callibrate it dead easily against 100%.

The article states that "to get an accurate reading the measurement should be taken at one atm." It appears that once you get a steady reading with a constant gas flow you turn the cylinder off and then wait for the reading to remeasure the trapped gas. I assume this capability is what the money is for. I have no idea how significant the change in the measurement is + given the best estimate/not the same for everyone effects of nitrox it may not be worth the money. On the other hand, I suppose getting the most accurate reading possible is a very good thing. Rgds Bryan

| It's like everything, use what you are happy with. Placcy bag and a 2nd stage works just as well though!
