the quantum rocks, you went get a pooter for that price and features, i got mine for £150 with the download pack. First one froze on me, returned it to Apeks, they replacement immediatly and had no problems since. They have had some problems with some batches, but issues appear to have been resolved. I love it.

I've got one too. Had it since last year. Done about 35 dives with it. It's a little on he conservative side, especially on shallow stuff, but generally I like it.

Did a review of it on my website at:

Thumbs up Apex Quantum

I like it too. Is more conservative than the Suunto, but not had any probs with it so far.

The first one I got I was really happy with it, but it did a computer says no on me, and since it was replaced it's done the job just fine, including 3 or 4 weekends using most of the features on the thing, and it's all good.

I would buy one again. Definitely. For that money you can't get a better computer. It's just not possible. I paid about £150 for mine. They will last forever, just do a few dives with it. Problem units are showing up pretty fast, just make sure you (as you always should anyway) plan the dive, or carry means of getting yourself out of dodge for a few dives. Wouldn't you do that with any new bit of kit?

Spend your money, at least if you get it wong and you don't like it you'll get most of your money back on ebay.

I bought two at the dive show last October - one for me and one for my wife.

The first one failed after about 10 dives (buttons stopped working). I sent it back and Apeks did a good turn around and admitted that the manufacturer had identified problems. I have not dived the new one yet as I started diving my wife's.

Well yesterday I was out diving the May Island in the Forth (Drift followed by Wreck) and when I got home the second computer has packed in. Not the same symptoms as the last one. I guess it will be getting returned.

Although I think they are good value for money, I am very disappointed that they have failed - one is perhaps acceptable, two is just pish! I also now will always have a nagging doubt in my head about its reliability. I dive with two computers (apeks Quantum and Aladin Nitrox Pro - the Aladin has not failed in over 500+ dives!) so more of an inconvenience, but I cant ever see myself taking a Quantum on say a weeks livaboard and having to rely on it to perform - just no confidence.

I will be sending the unit back to Apeks tomorrow and I am sure they will turn it around pretty fast, but at my expense and inconvenience.

If these were Apeks Regulators then nobody would be buying them anymore!

Just my experiences!

Regards
AlBal

Checkout this link...Diverite Nitek Duo..£290 spot the difference.

I bought my Quantum as a dive timer with a visual assent rate bar. I wanted a full backup just incase the VR3 ever packed up. Payed £149 from the GoDive stand at LDS. Had no problems so far...yes I would buy it again.
