PC Interface for Vyper

Looking to buy a download cable for my Vyper and have seen a couple.. I'm currently using Download Manager 1.6 if that makes any difference.

Custom Ideas
Ebay Item

Anyone have any other options or comments regarding the above?

Many thanks,

Ian

I bought one from Ebay and its all a but home made.with no garantee ect ect.
If you co to the Diverswarehouse site.
www.diverswarehouse.co.uk
then computers and accessorys.
The original Suunto item is £31.00, with all the proper manual and software, you'll still be abe to keep all your dives

the product code from the site os 07305.

Cheers G.

I have purchased the exact cable from ebay and find it works well with all versions of the Suunto dive manager software up to and including 2.1.5. However it does not work with the latest version (and therefore may not work with future versions)

Still £22 is far cheaper than any oficial cable!!

Have you read Justin's post about the Custom Ideas one?

I have one of the custom ideas ones and it works fine. It don't look as solid as the manufacturers but is fine for me as i only download the occasional dive profile.

I got it to download my Scapa one's from last year but i have managed to wipe them off the Vytec

Custome Ideas, I found it better than the Suunto one.

This hits the mark every time, I used to have to juggle the Suunto one to get a contact.

Fab kit, ordered online and delivered the following day.

Don't think you can go wrong.

Sorry to rekindle this old thread, but has anyone got their "customidea" usb cable to work with the latest dive manager software. Works with 1.6 no probs, but methinks only Suunto drivers work with the latest software, poooooop!

No. Like yourself only with 1.6. Glad I made a backup of the profile though! Custom Ideas are currently working on a fix as far as I'm aware.

Emailed them and got a quick response. As you say, they are currently working on the fix and the email is worded as if it will be out in the next few weeks. Sounds good.

Reuben saw the sea in a book once
This is Reuben from Custom Idea. I just thought I would let you know that we have revised the download cable design and now all new cables purchased from us will be compatible with version 2.0+ of the software. If you have an older cable you can either pay to upgrade your hardware (http://www.customidea.com/hr-usbdive1.php) or wait for a month or two when we should have a free bit of software which should get around the problem.

Cheers,

Reuben
