Question Vyper V Gekko

Hi Folks!
I use a Suunto Vyper, set to 10 sec sample. If I dive with someone using a Gekko, which uses a 30 sec sample, will we be more or less on the same deco etc? Should I change my Vyper to 30 sec sample? Thanks!

I have a Gekko, if I was diving with someone who had a Vyper (or any other pooter) I wouold expect our schedules to be different due to our different profiles, whether it would be reflected on the pooter is another matter. Therefore I would deco on the most restrictive schedule and use the other one as a back-up. I wouldnt reset my Vyper.

Matt

Must admit I thought the sampling time was only for the dive log software.
The shorter the sampling gap the less dives the onboard memory stores (however they are stored with more acuracy).

This must be right mustn't it? My Gekko wouldn't be much use to me if it only told me what depth I was at every 30 seconds. But for reviewing the profile it's just about OK.

And surely the answer is to do whatever the more conservative puter says. After all you wouldn't say "OK I'll go up now cos your puter says it's OK even though mine says I shouldn't" - would you

No - there's no such thing as a dumb question (apart from the one you don't ask....)

Didn't mean it to sound as if I thought it was a dumb question - sorry

Cheers, that really what I wanted to know. You don't use the Gekko at home?
