i don't own one or have ever considered owning one. but heres my 2p:-

How easy is it to read the important information on a dive computer, when half the screen is filled by a compass, which could easily be out of the way (ie on another wrist) :]

(hey i'm new take my advice with a tub of salt)

You have to press a button to get the compass as an alternate display. How easy is it to press a button or is it easier to have a compass stowed somewhere else? Can you read you computer at the same time as reading your compass? The display of the D6/D9 is as readable (same size or bigger digits) as any other Suunto computer. I have at least twenty different computers available to me to use so I only post this for reasons of information. I am not partisan towards Suunto.

I got a D9 in December i've only done 15 dives with it but find it very easy to use. It's quite compact compared to a lot of computers but the display is still easy to read.

Thumbs up

I and a few others now have a D6 in our possession but there will be a only small quantity available at the end of April for stock dealers orders already in place. It is expected to be hugely successful.

If you have a big wrist it will do well as a watch.

PS I am typing this at the edge of Lake Titicaca, Peru. Is not technology wonderful?
