| Something similar (nay, identical) happened to me with the Cobra, which was a little more worrying as it was my SPG at the time too I reckon these suuntos are all fairly similar inside regardless of model, so I'm not too surprised to learn the vytec can do it too.

| Mine was only a month or two old on its untimely death, but I traded it with Suunto for a Vytec DS and a suunto gauge console, so I felt their customer service is top notch

I have had one 'dodgy' dive with my Vyper at Stoney when it was reading an obviously incorrect depth - SDS asked me the question I've posed - I hadn't! Paul

| yes upon starting a suunto up it usualy stays on for about 10 minutes but a very good question and the answer is yes i did switch it on before entering the water !! its probs summat and nowt but not something you expect to happen to higher end suunto computers ! but with all things electrical i suppose there is always the scope for things to malfunction!!

| I've had a similar problem with a Vytec, got it checked over and the only conclusion reached was that the stap was probably too tight. That was over a semi-dry though but I'd guess you could get the same effect over a neoprene dry suit as well. It showed a constant 10m too shallow during the dive and then claimed I was at the surface when I got back up to 10m again. |
