| Wotcher Col, just seen your post - there's a very good chance your download problem is easily fixed. USB-serial converters, when you install them, give themselves a com port address, but you don't necessarily know what that is. If you tell the download software to look at COM1, but the converter's installed itself on COM3 you'll obviously have a problem. Right-click on My computer and select 'Manage'. When the window pops up, left-click on Device Manager in the left-hand column. Then, in the right-hand column, left-click on the + next to "Ports (Com & LPT)". In there you'll see a list of your com ports and (hopefully) your USB-serial converter. It should have the COM number next to it. That's the com port it's assigned to, and you need to ensure that your download software is pointed at that port. Windows being windows, that port can vary from reboot to reboot. If all the above doesn't work, give me a shout - I've got CCR trimix Proplanner knocking around on one of my pooters somewhere (fully legit and paid for) so we can play with that. Sorry I haven't been round to check out yr rig arrangements and discuss 'Trimix in a J' as per our conversation the other day - the weather has been a weeny bit poxy lately and I don't fancy the lanes around your gaff at the moment! I'll stop round at the weekend & we can dig around and see what can be done. Throb PS - the IR on the VR£ won't work cos it's regular ol' infrared and your laptop more than likely uses irDA. Mind you, I've got the VR£ IR receiver knocking round somewhere too, but the chances of finding it after 2 house moves since buying it are pretty slim EDIT: Your VR£ is obviously much newer and posher than mine, cos I never had the option of a USB cable for download - it was IR or bugger all. I've been tempted by some of the newer-fangled VR£s, but I've gotten sick of paying colossal amounts of money to DeltaP. The blurb when I bought it was 'The last computer you'll ever need'. Yeah right. Last edited by Robski : 26-01-07 at 12:08 AM. |

| I tried the com port thing & as it happens it is on com 3 but it still doesn't work ! the new lead usb hard wired lead connects onto the plug thingy on the VR£ that you connect the O2 sensor to for the 4th cell .I actually bought chaseys 2nd hand one .I've got the proper VR£ IR lead no prob I'll see you at the weekend hopefully 'The last computer you'll ever need' well it is ! it's just all the extra's you need to keep buying for it .but it's still the same computer

| You bought it off Chasey??? Well no wonder it doesn't work! Lovely guy, but anything electronic he touches turns up its toes quicker than it can say "Oh no! Not him! Screeeeeeeaaaatch!!! (picture small cloud of pungent smoke rising from recently deceased Classic leccies/HUD/Hammerhead). I hear that NASA have special 'Chase exclusion zones' established around Cape Canaveral, just in case he turns up on his hols around the time of a shuttle launch.. BTW Mark knows me, so he knows I'm just taking the P, but he is the best advert for an RB80 ever. Can't see it happening though, cos of the baggage that comes with it. Mark Chase in speedos? Must Kill. Must Kill. Must Kill. |

| Thats why it did work for me though it was so glad to be paroled from a life sentence it turned into a reformed VR3 & worked perfectly for it's new owner But I think you have being taking the same pills as Finless when you start talking about chasey in speedo's !
