I've had one of these for donkeys years and it's never let me down. Express watchmakers in Plymouth (01752 224996) do battery changes and pressure tests for much less than £50.

£250 might get you a Suunto Stinger if you look around or if you want something that looks utterly crap like a cheap Casio but does more, how about the Apeks Pulse?

Thanks all...

went for this one in the end

Just ordered it now... be with me on Friday... Titanium cost a bit more than the stainless version (paid £279).

Delivery on ebay was the problem, plus, it sounded like many of the versions on there were 'older' ones...

I'm sure my brother inlaw will be a happy little bunny.

Just a bit of apre-info.

When the second hand starts doing 2 second instead of 1 sec jumps,
the battery needs changing.

Too chunky..... is there such a thing?

I have an Aqualand, marvelous thing. And Citizen have outstanding customer service. I sent mine to them all of a fluster before a holiday and it was returned 5 days later with new lens, new strap, new battery, all done for I think 20 quid.

Glad to know that... I go a bit of differing advise (after I'd ordered this one!) today... so that has put my mind at rest!

And, no, I don't think a watch can be too chunky either!
