New Toy :D

Well, I've just got back from Israel to find a little present to myself had arrived.

I am now the soon to be frustrated owner of a Mono VR3 C4. Have had a read through the manual, which is clear as mud!

Have had a play around. The screen navigation is very frustrating but then I think one of the buttons is sticking (well it is a second hand unit) as sometimes it works fine and other times it does something that requires both buttons to be pressed when I press on one.

Am looking forward to having a dive with it just as soon as I'm happy with it.

I need to buy a screen guard for it too.

Just one last thought. Looking at the connector for the cable, it sticks out a bit and so it might dig into my wrist during a shutdown. Does anyone rotate the screen 180 degrees and wear it "upside down" or does it really not impede the shutdown???

Wise choice my son......

To ease the sticky button, depress it, remove the circlip slowly and over a large white sheet etc. tiny bit WD40 and reassemble as it says in the book.

Sticky screen guard - the others break all too easily

The strap is adjustable enough to wear it well up the arm so rotation is very optional

Sounds like if the button is not sticking in then the switch has broken in half, not a big problem, as above remove clip and check if the magnet has broken off the back of the switch. If so do not panic go to your local Delta pee supplier and they should carry a pack of two spare switches for about 7 quid

Nope....switches are intact (first thing I checked). Will give them a little oil up and see what happens.

I seem to remember that the old style switches had this problem, but you can replace them with a newer style switch. I'm going from memory, so may be talking complete rubbish......I think you can get them at Portland Oceaneering

Sorry chap the older VR3...no pin variety doesn't have circlips in at all....although saying that my old VR3 never skipped a beat.

Oh...and yes stick on sticky pad screen protector... the hard plastic ones either fall off or break...they are pants...also 3.6 lithium battery...last forever nearly.

Barrie Law at Divertec supplied one with my VR3 when I bought it so I'd try there.
