Suunto D6 vs Uwatec Aladin Tec 2G

Hi,

I am looking to upgrade my computer. I have always had an Aladin but my last one died when the battery was at 45% and the fee to change it is a rippoff!!

So I have been looking at the D6 and the Tec 2G as options to replace the dead one.

Can anyone offer any advice or tips after owning/using either of these computers? The Diver Test for the D6 was informative but not as good for the Tec 2G which is why I am asking the question.

I am looking to use the computer for recreational and extended range (50m ish) dives.

Also, any recommendations on online shops?

Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.

have the suunto

I can only go on my own experience but i had a uwatec for a SHORT time and switched to suunto, batteries and buttons seem to be problematic on uwatecs.
been using my vyper for 3 years and its done 100 + dives still got full battery and all the buttons etc are working fine - i now have a D9 (yeah - i know its the 'fashion' one!) and although you have to get used to the smaller screen and layout its a great computer, easy to use etc.
so if it was my money i'd go for the D6 - or hand till you have an extra few quid and get a D9, some good deals around.

dive safe

Are you planning on using the built in algorithm to calculate your decompression requirements on 50m air dives?

I can't remember where I read this but it sounds kind of apt ....

It's your bone marrow, you can do what you like with it.

hi all,

This is my first post so be gentle!!

I just brought a Suunto Gekko from Venture Sports Diving - they were the cheapest i could find on that item.

I have looked and they do not list the d6 on there site, but they do carry the suunto range so maybe drop them a line and see if they can help. My gekko arrived very fast and i was impressed. Hope this helps
