VR3 - f*(ked??

Hmm. Looking at this forum the last 3 threads are about VR3 problems.

I've had mine for about 2.5 years with no issues whatsoever. Last night I was using simulate mode and got distracted by a phone call. When I came back to it there was about a year of deco on it. Pressing a button had no effect. I tried taking the battery out and starting again but no joy. When I press the left button I get the battery voltage and pressure screen and nothing else. That is any other button press does nothing. I left the battery out over night and the exact same thing is happening.

The software is V3.03aC. I'm supposed to be going on a week diving tomorrow. Help!!

Doesn't sound too good.
Might be worth getting it wet with enough pressure to "trigger it"
I'm not suggesting lobbing it it the river

Hi Bigfella,

Strange one, normally leaving the battery out for 24 hours solves most things if you are about in Dublin today give me a bell and I will have a look at it for you;

WooHoo!!

Quick call to Barrie and I think I have it sorted. He suggested the button maybe broke. Tool the left one out and it seems fine. Which was expected as it turns on when pushed (but not fully on when pressed again). Took left button out and its snapped in half (why am I such a ham fisted goon!). Luckily Barrie has spare buttons in stock so I'll nip out to his place at lunchtime, pick them up and hopefully they'll work and I can go diving next week!!

Unfortunately as I've had the battery out I'll have lost all my dives! D'oh!

Thanks Barrie - top class service!

SCORE!!

All working now! Bad switch. The right switch was gone and was interfering with the working of the left one.

Glad I found out last night and not tomorrow when I'm in the arse end of nowhere.

Cheers for the help Barrie - I owe ya a pint!

Meant to say a switch has been added to the spares box. It'd be a bugger to muck up a weeks diving over something like that.
