how to un-bend a suunto?

I did a dive on sunday on 32%, with my vyper set to 32%, but with a gekko set to Air, just out of interest to compare. did ~30 mins @ ~30m - got out nice & clean on the vyper but with 4 mins of stop time left on the gekko

the gekko now says "Er" - is there some way of clearing this or is it just a case of taking it diving again & it'll sort itself out?

thanks

I think after so many hours it will unbend itself, but not having dived one of these I can't be sure.

Or do what we did a couple of years ago in the SOM and pop it on the end of a reel, drop it down to 150m for 10 mins then wind it in as fast as you can.

Beeping? It sounded like an alarm clock shop.

Out of curiosity, and by no means a criticism, but why not complete the the 4 additional minutes? Were you interested in seeing what the computer looked like bent?

Cheers/Nic

Don't wrestle with a pig. You'll only get as dirty as the pig & the pig likes it

You can also remove the battery quite easily and this will reset it (works for Vyper, I imagine the Gekko is similar) but this would almost certainly void any warranty so only do in desperation!

I did the same to my mates Vyper while on holiday in the Maldives. He couldn't dive due to a bad insect bite on his foot and one of the group was diving air and the same profiles as us and the rest of the group were making the most of the free nitrox so i wanted to see the difference. After 2 dives, my vyper on 32% (what i was breathing) and his on air i got back on the boat and told him i couldn't shut it up beeping and that it still had 15 mins deco to do.

But bang on 48 hrs later it was ready to go again.

Worth noting, with most computers that if you dive as soon as it clears it will severely restrict your bottom times.I'm suprised it went into err and not sos.
