Which wrist-mounted compass to buy?

Fed up of struggling to easily read my console mounted compass, and hence getting lost    I'm going to get me a nice shiny new wrist mounted one - but which to go for?

Suunto SK7 I seem to remember hearing good things about - opinions anyone?

i don't like the strap much though - it's a bit fiddly

The strap is a total abortion binn it and use bungee.

The actual SK7 unit is very very good

I still get totaly lost but I think that's more my fault &nbsp;

Suunto SK7's are very good, &nbsp;excellent tilt tolerence. &nbsp;

As Kate say's ditch the strap, &nbsp;I replace mine with bungee and it works a treat.

Is it the same stap as the Vyper?
Great 'puter, but crap strap - looks like I might go for the SK7 then bungee the pair of them.

When you bungeed them, did you have to make it adjustable at all, for switching from Drysuit to Wetsuit ?

Assuming I can ever scrape together enoguh cash to go abroad again that is - not looking likely rate I'm (still!) buying kit! You think you've got everything you're going to need... &nbsp;

It's a bit tricky to explain, but I have a big loop of bungee. &nbsp;

Thread the loop through where the strap goes so I have a loop either side. &nbsp;smallish loop and large loop.

Large loop goes under wrist (so I have what looks like two individual bits of bungee about a cm apart), &nbsp;passes through the little loop, &nbsp;(so the little loop cannot pull through the strap holes) and then the excess from the big loop is pulled over the top of the compass housing &nbsp; &nbsp;It works for wet or drysuits and I have a bolt snap on to attach the compass in my pocket or to my harness.

If I can be bothered or if requested I guess I could take a picture or three to explain better.

No

Its got a realy silly locking system on it that dosent work well with gloves on and is a sod to get the the corect tension.
