<font color='#F52887'>At the weekend I had a pleasant dive (planned bottom time of 30 minutes) and during the dive while monitoring my computer it suddenly gave me an ascent time of 27 minutes. I just ignored it and dived on my backup tables and timer, has this happened to anyone else and was it OK on the next series of dives? Another good reason to always carry backups of everything.

Can you print out the profile? If so check the depths. My Suunto depth presure sensor failed and the computer was saying I was at 38m when I was at 18. If your computer suddenly spiked down to 60m for a few mins you could have racked up a shead load of deco without actualy ever getting to 60.

Just a thaught.

<font color='#0000FF'>Did the computer continued with its long ascent time or did it go back to 'normal' again.
Try reading the manual again in case - never hurts.
I have the impression it has happened to me but only momentarily, I remember once thibking it was odd (the ascent time) but no sooner I saw it it changed to another reading. I'm going to look at the manual again.

<font color='#736AFF'>The pressure sensor went on my vytec a couple of years ago and insisted I was 6m down, when at the surface and would not come out of err mode. New computer was required.

I would try it one another dive and see what happens

<font color='#F52887'>Mark, there was no spike down below the depth that it stated. the profile was normal. the Ascent time counted down, but I was out of the water according to my tables so it locked me out for the second dive. I continued on tables. The depth also agreed with my bottom timer (with a little bit of difference) the computer has done approximately 80 dives.
