| Imported post You'll need a transmitter and a computer per tank if you use independents. You have a number of options. 1) Use gauges, very cheap option! 2) Use two computers, one on each wrist. 3) Manifold them and have one tranmitter and one computer, and a back up gauge. 4) Manifold them and use one transmitter and one computer only! If your trying to get rid of hoses use a manifolded set with one transmitting computer. Just depends on how much redundancy you believe in. Tim

| Imported post I dive with a Vytec and twins and no, you can't have two transponders communicating with one unit. I have the transponder off the main first stange and a pressure gauge on the seconday first stage. I tend to use the Vytec for my main gas monitoring and keep the gauge out of the way until (if) I need it. Of course, the transponder isn't much use for when you switch to a deco stage and things have been complicated by me moving to a VR3 so my Vytec transponder is probably going to be relagated to my holiday kit and I'll have to hope Delta P bring out their one for the VR3 soonish!

| Imported post Toby. l have a vytec with transmitter and l wouldn't reccomend anyone to buy the transmitter. If you set the computer to read the transmitter and then walk to the pointy end of the boat when you return you'd have to re-set the computer. Now this is simple enough, provided that you've noticed that its not reading the tank pressure. For about £150 more l could/should have bought a VR3

| Imported post OK - looks like relying on the transmitter to do away with a gauge is not a good idea then - was just hoping to cut down on all the plumbing required - perhaps in a few years these problems might be ironed out but in the meantime it would seem that its not really worth bothering with the transmitter at all. Cheers for the advice
