I'm perplexed. Do people actually use things like this?

I'm as geeky as they come but I still use the old PADI paper log rather than a computer. Admittedly I will happily log a whole trip on one page in columns because everything is the same.

Now I know that some people enjoy writing full, vivid descriptions of a dive but they need a big blank sheet with some fields at the top and this isn't that either.

All I want is depth, total time (not bottom time), date and location.
I tend to record the kit/weight used as that can stop me making a wrong decision later on how much lead to carry. There will be computer dumps somewhere but I can match them up by the date. (Except the VR3 that thinks January 1980 was a busy diving time for me.)

I certainly don't record suit details, because that's obvious, the weather, temperature or gas used stuff and the last buddy to sign my log was the instructor who finished my AOW.

As I say I'm perplexed. It doesn't seem to address real divers that I meet. I'm not sure what would but that's another matter.

Well it would be nice if you were more clear in your answer.

1) Is it free to YDers? If it is then we can restore the link with a caveat and a warning about downloading from unknown sources.

2) If you plan to charge YDers for it in the future, I can restore the link with appropriate caveats and move the thread to Member Businesses and Services.

Please can you advise which option applies. I would also suggest if you intend to charge for it and are using YD for free advertising then that's not on either and Jay may well want you to consider becoming a YD Advertiser.

Thumbs up

Garf

Your DIR log borders on the brilliant. Have some green. However, there are a couple of things missing;

1. How many abandoned stages/Gavins did it take to clog up the main entry
point.

2. How many divers had to seek alternative points of entry because of (1.)
above.

Apart from that, I can see you will make shit loads of money selling the concept
