Aladin Tec 2G Stuck in Dive mode

Just decided to catch up with logging my dives this year when I noticed that it is stuck in dive mode. The display is showing 0 dive time, no depth and the temperature. The only functions that are available are backlight, when I press the left button, and, when I press both together, it blanks the screen but returns to the dive screen I noticed this between dives on the weekend too but it seems to work fine in the water as it was fine on the dive and is no longer showing details of that dive. I'm guessing that it is a problem with the pressure sensor, anyone got any ideas? The main thing for me is not losing the saved dive data as I have not logged any of my dives this year I'm guessing that I'll have to send it back to Uwatec, has anyone else done this? How is their customer service?

Cheers/Nic

EDIT: Currently got it soaking in tap water, see if that makes a difference

Just returned mine to BrianA to return to Scubapro.

Mine won't bookmark or activate the stopwatch. Hopefully I will have it back for my holiday.

I suspect if you send it back you are going to loose any dive information. Bugger that's a point I downloaded mine to PC but not to PDA.

Mine was doing exactly the same thing about 2 weeks ago.A warm water bath seems to of sorted it out but not sure if this is a long term cure.

Diving tomorrow so will be interested to see if it happens again. Could be salt getting into the button? and stopping it fully depressing or holding it down

When I contacted them they suggested warm soapy water, it did do the trick for a bit but its gone again.

Have you got the smartrack software Nic?

If so dont use Trak, go into talk mode.

No idea if this works, but had similar probs on old Aladins and worked fine
once I used talk and woke it up.

That's what I thought. Will check it after a dive and see if I can get anything from it.

Will try that tomorrow, currently in a room temperature bath. I'd be interested in hearing how yours fares.

Yeah, the fact that he was wearing a mask should have given it away

This was good since January, overall I've been pleased with it.

No, no software for it. It use IRDA or a cable (?) and i don't have either. Actually, I might have IRDA on my laptop - I will check it out.

Thanks for all the responses.

Cheers/Nic
