I'm not so sure. 0.5% on a mix makes very little difference. What offends me is the spurious precision. It will tell me I can't switch to 50% until something like 20.3m. So that's one decimal place even though it has intentionally introduced errors that are greater than the 0.1m level of accuracy it quotes too.

It's not normally a problem for me, although it is slightly annoying being at 6.1m (because I have a 6.0m ceiling on the Shearwater) but can't switch the Suunto to 99% because I'm not at 5.7m. I've bent the Suunto a few times like this.

Which is fine if you are deco-ing out on 100% at 6m but many deco on 50%, 70% and 80% and clearly want to switch as soon as possible, or at the very least as soon as their plan requires it. Okay, probably running run times or an alternate like Janos mentions above but then you're looking at always bending your Suunto. An annoyance and an irritant but at £340 a pop I think we should be able to accept better compliance, particularly as Suunto are readily available, highly popular (for good reason) and generally the way you go (unless Uwatec) when you first start diving with computers. Be nice if they reconciled to what we are trained and were still valid as we progress

like some one already said its sold on mass to plebs ,
if you dont under stand how to get round pleb mode then may be you should not be trying
why not just set your ppo2 a 1,6 for all the mix you use . do with out the alarm s

play by suunto Rules, or set up computer and play how you like ,

not used my suunto for deco for a long time now i use my vr3 with my YBOD
put when i did dive the suunto i had no prob s with it on dive to 70m with 60+ mis deco at last stop ie 6m

Ha! As I said I can and, on occasion, do " get round" what you call "pleb mode" and I really don't think casting aspersions on me, because you missed my point and PMd me about deco-ing on 100% at 6m when I was not talking about that at all, is appropriate

I used to get headaches after dives. I slowed my descent rate down and they stopped. Coincidence? I know that some people suspect excessive carbon dioxide caused headaches. It may mean that you absorb more of it in your tissues if you descend faster....?

I think this is the answer to your problem sunntos RGBM tracks multi-day diveing and adjusts the M-values.
Tim had dived earlier in the week and allthough the risdual Nitrogen was zero the RGBM had ajusted the M-Values resulting in the extra Deco.

Did you both have the same diving profile in the days leading up to this dive?
Did you both have the same persional adjustments set?
