| Computers & Dive Timers: Discuss Vytec DS question in the Dive Kit and Equipment forums: Hi everyone On sunday me and my buddy did a dive to 35m, we were both on air and both ... |

| Now that is just completely illogical I always dive my computer on EAN, just 21% for air. Were your settings the same ? RGBM at x%, Deep stops, P0/1 etc ?

Mind you, I found a strange thing on my Vytec DS. When you set the ppO2 it gives you an incorrect depth. It's in the ballpark but seems unable to perform a basic simple calculation Example ( and how I found it) : PPo2 set to 1.4 diving on 28% Max depth = 38.6 Hey ! that's 1.4m I'm missing ! ppO2 set to 1.6 on 50% MOD = 21.5m, not 22 I can only conclude there are some fractions it's taking into account but Suunto DM won't use fractions on weight. It always rounds up or down, even if x.5kg

| Everything was set the same...... could account for the massive headaches i've been getting after nitrox dives??

| In Nitrox mode the Suunto calculates some things on the O2 percentage plus 1%. Like maximum depth. Perhaps it's also affected the deco time? Sounds unlikely though. Most likely you both had different profiles. Even sticking close together you would be at different depths for different amounts of time...... |
| ||||
| did you have any previous diving within the last couple of days ? and you say you didnt have its set with the plusses for a more conservative profile? i always dive my vytec +1 and it usualy knocks a few extra minutes off to be more conservative! very weird them being so far out ! |
| ||||
| have any of you got access to a spare computer? if so it would be interesting if one of you wore both computers so you could ensure it was the same profile.
