| Imported post yeah, I have one and so does diving dude Howard, i wouldnt bother witht he transmitter unit, it's not reliable enough to be certain that it works everytime. I often have to mess about to get the 'puter to see the transmitter. . in all other ways it's a great computer. although it does seem to have a silly insistance on doing a 3 minute stop regardless of what ever you have been doing before. ie do a dive and spend the last 16 minutes at 6.1m and as soon as you get to 5.9m it wants a stop for 3 minutes. just my humble opinion of course, i am sure a few more vytwec users will tell you what they think jules

| Imported post <font color='#0000FF'>hi yeah i have a vyper and my mate has a vytec he keeps having problems with the transmityer but i think that is down to the position if the transmitter (ie the direction if the transmitter to the computer) but once he gets it to talk it works a treat . plus i am looking to upgrade to vytec but not the one with the transmitter... hope this helps chris

| Imported post <font color='#736AFF'>I love my Vytec and transmitter. There are a few bits to learn Switch on the computer before filling the regs with gas When diving allow your puter to have a direct sight of transmitter every few minutes (I have had one disconnection in the last 100 dives) The transmitter and puter sulks if the gas pressure does not drop after 15 minutes-so assemble your kit, fill the system with gas, breath a few times to reduce the gas pressure to below 15 bar. About 5-10 mins before diving switch on the vytec, place right next to transmitter, switch on gas, get connected, go diving, have fun. Originally I never had the transmitter, wife bought it for me and air consumption has improved by 10% as more relaxed. |

| Imported post Thanks everyone for the responses, it does sound a little temperamental but I'm sure I could get used to it in time. Unfortunately after LIDS this weekend any further purchases will have to go on hold for a while, so I'll have plenty of time to make my mind up. |

| Imported post I don't know about the Suunto but on my Uwatec Zo2 the transmission is lost whenever I use my DPV or turn on the strobes for my camera (magnetic switches), other than this I like the system and have had no problems with it in the last 200 or so dives. Uwatec doesn't hit you with the 3 min stop either, another plus. Ian

| Imported post Both me and my buddy have Vytecs and afer a bit of tinkering with transmitter placement, they are fine. Just make sure the transmitter is screwed into the port of the first stage the same side as you are going to wear the computer. We had some problems with loss of signal with the transmitter on the left side and the computer on the right wrist, but when the transmitter was put into the right port, everything seems fine. HTH
