| Imported post <font color='#8D38C9'>can't say about the aladin but usb serial converter works with the suunto interface no problem so I would have thought that the aladin would be the same as the software just sees a serial port |

| Imported post <font color='#0000FF'>You should be able to buy a USB - Serial converter from RS, Maplins or Farnells. Do a search on Google for DIY Aladin Interfaces as I was looking at doing this before! OR......Buy a new motherboard with a serial port. If you have trouble, let me know and I'll see what I can do HTH

| Imported post Quote from Uwatec's South African (huh?) website; Updated 32 bit Datatrak Software application for Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000 and XP. Serial communication renewed to work with to serial (RS-232) converters. With help of this kind of converter, MemoMouse can now be connected to USB port. Inmac have them in, for example; http://www.inmac.co.uk/product.aspx?SKU=E249486 HTH. Mark.

| Imported post I found myself in the same predicament Rob. I got a serial to USB converter from Maplin for about 15 squids. Using a laptop with XP and no serial ports but more USB's than I know what to do with it all seemed to work OK, though it did take several hours of playing with the device managaer to get it speaking my own dialogue be it computer rubbish or even the red wine anthem....... I think what i am trying to say is yes it will work and you should have no problems!!! |
