D9 vs Vytec DS

Perhaps a stupid question but can someone tell me what benfits there are for having a D9 over the Vytec DS aside from the build in compass? Normally this wouldnt be an issue as I find the price prohibitive but can get a deal of D9 with transmitter for £694 and have realised this is only £170 more then the Vytec DS I was going to get. Which has got me thinking...

So someone please help me make my mind up

(And before Woz or similair suggest it both is not an option)

You can wear the D9 as a big watch for every day use.
The Vytec would look silly

I've a D6 and love it, but I don't do deep diving anymore

Get the Vytec

If i had lots of cash I would buy a D9 for the pub, so people would come up to me and say. "Ear, is'nt that a D9 diving watch". You must be a totally cool diving dude.. And the Vytec for the diving where you stand some chance of using the button with 3/5mm gloves on

yes from me its another vote for the ds !

easy to use and easy to see underwater !

easy gas switching and easy menus with the option to upgrade to the transmitter should you want lots of data about ur diving !

Kin elll £694????

You could buy a proper diving computer for that much money.

Id get the deep stop Vytec and save a bit of cash. D9 is bling not dive kit.

I have the d9 and Ever one says how do you see it and the button are to small but to be honest I find it no proplem to use the button's or to read it.

the diving blink remarks a bit harsh but I do follow the point, I keep saying i should not where it all the time but I do, And it is handy to beable to pull dives profile's or the dive planner up when ever I like

if you are going to go for one I would make sure you get the transmitter aswell as I realy like diving with it

The Vytec DS have gotten a bad reputation out here in Thailand...lots of issues arising when conducting deep dives. To date, not heard anyone complaining about the D9.
